Vision and Outcomes


In 2009 AOC committed its staff and resources to work towards achieving its goals as set out in its three year Strategic Development Plan (2009-2011).  The focus of this plan is to provide a framework for AOC’s staff, stakeholders and beneficiaries to gain the necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors to move forward personally and collectively in the development process.  With a strong emphasis on personal and communal responsibility all programs are working towards local ownership and a commitment to ensure sustainability of interventions.
Looking up and looking forward AOC under the direction of it’s National Director is leading the way to develop a presence within northern district of Stung Treng, a central cross roads in the wider Greater Mekong Sub-region.

 

Strategic Focus

To be known as a role model NGO that promotes professionalism and good practice within its organization, by other NGO’s, provincial and district government authorities, beneficiaries, donors and other stakeholders.

To empower the local church leaders and family members to be good role models in character, behavior and attitudes in their homes and communities.

AOC will have achieved accreditation through NGO Good Practice Certification System.


In Lvea Em district

*16 church leaders (women and men) from 23 church groups in Lvea Em will have the capacity and confidence to teach and demonstrate effective discipleship principles and action in their homes, church and community.

*250 children and youth in the church will have increased self esteem and confidence to make wise life choices and be roles models in their communities.

*300 church members will have increased presence in providing care and support for those in their neighborhood who have physical, emotional, relational and spiritual needs.

*In collaboration with the Cambodian Ministry of Health, Asian Outreach Cambodia proposes to facilitate a process whereby

*HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis case detection, treatment, management and social support is implemented and established as an integrated community based service in Lvea Em district, benefiting 100 people living with HIV/AIDS and/or TB and their families.

*1300 households will have improved health, productivity and a decrease in health related debt burden due to community led and monitored installation of safe water (bio sand filters)and latrines

*5250 primary students and 200 teachers from 15 primary schools will use, care and maintain their new/repaired latrines and demonstrate improved hygiene practices

*150 primary school teachers from 18 primary schools are effectively and regulary  teaching health education in their classrooms

*10,000 primary school students show improved health/hygiene practices and confidently share and demonstrate health messages at school and in their homes

*1288 youth (age 15-22) have increased knowledge and are challenged to make wise life choices as a result of the HIV/AIDS youth Wise Choice program

*108 local community HIV/AIDS Trainers have effectively reached 4,000 adults from all levels of the community resulting in reduction in discrimination and improved community care for PLWHA and TB.
