Update on the T.B. Ward and Laborotary.
We are pleased to tell you that the T.B Ward is open and running well.
At the time of the official opening /dedication in October 2004, the
ward building was completed, however there was still the raising of funds
to install a substantial water supply system to the ward and lab. This
has now been completed to a very high standard and the ward is close to
being fully operational.
All that is still required,
is to have an electricity supply connected, and some more laborotary equipment
purchased.This building is meeting a huge need for people in Kandal Province.
Prior to this ward and laborotory being built, T.B. patients had to travel
to Phnom Penh for medical assesments and and remain for treatment. This
caused serious dispuption to the families and seriously affected the ability
to work their rice fields for the daily nesceties.
