Changing Lives for Good - Pha Sami

Pha Sami

For 46-year-old Pha Sami, a timely encounter with Asian Outreach Cambodia eight years ago was the beginning of a life-changing journey towards a healthier family and a close relationship with God. In 2002, AOC helped Sami cover medical expenses when she was very sick but could not afford to go to the hospital. She had heard the gospel message before, but it was not until her stay in the hospital that she came to believe in the healing power of God’s love. She soon became a leader in her community, caring for and assisting disadvantaged women. ..more

Students Learning in Community Health Promotion

teachers

This year 5 teachers from Prek Rey primary school joined our school health education teachers training program.  Rote learning, minimal problem solving and critical thinking skills and poor teacher-student interaction has and still continues to be the norm in the Cambodian education system.  Therefore our primary focus is to train and equip teachers in student focused interactive teaching methods.  After attending our training on Child to Child methodology, we have seen these 5 teachers not just teaching but enthusiastically working with the students to plan and take action in sharing the health message and solving the health problems in their school and community.
