Overview:
Serving the people of Lvea Em since 1996, Asian Outreach Cambodia (AOC) has through its relief and latterly development projects always sought to bring healing, wholeness and hope into people’s lives. Respecting the conditions of our local partner the Cambodian Ministry of Health AOC staff have shown genuine care and sensitivity sharing their faith when appropriate.
The pathway has not always been smooth; there has been disunity amongst the four local denominations and at times antagonism towards AOC. Despite this the gospel has continued to be shared, and many people’s lives have changed. In 2007 AOC changed its focus from “what we can do for you” to “how can we empower you (the church) to disciple and care for your members and reach the community”. The harvest has started, and we honor the work of those who have gone before.
Purpose:
The purpose is to empower the local church leaders and members in Lvea Em to be an effective Christian witness in their homes and in the community.
Objectives overview:
• To increase the capacity of church leaders (women and men) to disciple, demonstrate and teach all that Jesus commanded to its members, women and men, youth and children
• To improve the relationship between the church and the local community by supporting church led community initiatives
• To assist the church to take responsibility to help meet the real needs of its members and the local community
