Asian Outreach Cambodia’s vision is to see Cambodian communities transformed into self sustaining, caring communities where men and women, boy and girls are treated with respect and dignity and have a sense of personal and collective responsibility for every members health and well being.
This is being achieved through;
*Empowering local church leaders and family members to become role models of Godly character, behavior and integrity within their families and as able provide physical, emotional, relational and spiritual support to those in need in their communities.
*Working in collaboration with the Cambodian Ministry of Health, AOC is facilitating a process whereby HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis case detection, treatment, management and social support is implemented as an integrated community based service in Lvea Em district, Kandal province.
*Disseminating the HIV/AIDS awareness, transition, and prevention message through all levels of rural communities by training local village volunteers and facilitating a youth wise choice program
*Training local village volunteers to take responsibility for water and sanitation construction, management and related health/hygiene education.
*Facilitating a process whereby school principals and local leaders take responsibility for the use, care and maintenance for school latrines (existing and new) and students’ hygiene behaviors.
*Assisting children from disadvantaged and poor families to begin and/or complete primary education.
*Training teachers and implementing heath education for 18 primary schools in health education Lvea Em district. Began in October 2004 with successful completion September 2010.
